On Saturday, March 27, 2010 UUCH will take an important step toward our future.  As we consider moving to a new facility, it is important that we create a clear vision of the future direction of the congregation.  Who are we?  What makes us unique among all other local congregations?  What will we be spiritually and emotionally in the next 5 years?  The answers to these questions are a “Vision Statement.”  We also want to develop a “Mission Statement” that supports the vision of the congregation.

In order to define these things clearly and collectively, we will be engaging in a day of focus group sessions, “Searching for the Future,” designed to develop a shared vision, a more specific mission and a list of supportive goals, activities and objectives that will give us a head start on the development of a Strategic Plan.

Please plan on joining us; it is very important that we get input from everyone about our future.  New members, old members, friends of the church-everyone is invited to attend.  Most people’s commitment for this date will be about 3.5 hours, during which we’ll imagine our future together.  We need all of you to come and share your ideas!  Some of us will also need to serve as facilitators, who will be trained by our UUA consultant to lead us in these sessions, and who will need to be available for about 10 hours over the course of the weekend (with a Friday night meeting and in some cases an after-church meeting Sunday).  Sessions will be held on Saturday, March 27 during three different time slots: 8:30am-12:00pm, 1:00-4:30pm, and 6:00-9:30pm.  Select a time that works for you and join us for this exciting time in the life of our church.  You will be seeing posters and sign-up cards circulating soon so that you can register.
