UUCH Board Report October 27, 2009
The UUCH Board met on October 27, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.
Kip Shepard and Steve Herold, Co-chairs of Property Sales Committee, gave a report on the work of the committee. The Board voted to authorize the Property Sales Committee to obtain a commercial appraisal of the church property. In other business, the Board approved names for new members for the Committee on the Ministry. David Bollinger was approved as the Chair of the Technology Committee. The UUCH Board met on January 26, 2010 and worked on coordinating the many activities surrounding the Church’s plans for pursuing new facilities. This includes the “Searching for the Future” focus-group weekend to establish a shared vision and mission for the church.
For the Annual Budget Drive, the Board discussed themes and specific priorities that help align the Budget Drive with our specific dreams for the church. This will help us set a strong foundation in the work of the church as we enter our capital campaign later in the year.

UUCH Board Report March 23, 2010
The UUCH Board met on March 23, 2010 and discussed the results of the highly successful, ongoing Annual Budget Drive. The preliminary Benchmarks for Strategic Planning were also reviewed, and a report from the Committee on the Ministry was heard. The Board voted to continue UUCH’s annual support to Alabama Arise and IMS.
On March 28th, the Board had an additional meeting with Larry Wheeler, UUA consultant, to plan for our upcoming Financial Feasibility Study and Capital Campaign.

The UUCH Board met on June 22, 2010. Steve Herold, from the Property Sales Committee was present to discuss the progress of the Committee. The Committee’s Charter was reviewed, and amended to include the Committee’s efforts to actively seek out existing properties for sale as well as to sell our current property. The Committee is now renamed the “Property Sales and Purchase Committee.” The current property will officially go on the market on July 1, 2010.
