Huntsville Congregation History
The Unitarian Universalist Church of Huntsville was gathered in 1957. After meeting in homes and rented spaces, the church occupied its own building on East Clinton Street for ten years. The current building,
located on the southwest slope of Monte Sano Mountain
, was constructed in 1978. In 1994 the Huntsville congregation was designated a Welcoming Congregation by the UUA in recognition of our proven record of acceptance and affirmation of gay, lesbian, and bisexual persons. The Church is a member of the
Mid-South District
of the
Unitarian Universalist Association
