Sunday Discussion Group at UUCH

The Adult Discussion Group meets every Sunday at 9:30 am downstairs in
the church. We usually vote on the topics, taking care to give
newcomers a bigger voice in selecting topics. By convention the person
providing the topic will typically be given 5 to 10 minutes to lay out
the subject for discussion.
We have a large variety of subject topics. Sometimes it is politics,
Buddhist principles, or the meaning of quantum mechanics or our
understanding of personal freedom. Believe it or not sometimes these
discussion groups will get lively. For this reason we have a talking
stick, to keep people from stepping on the point that someone was
trying to make.
Over the past several years, our discussion group process has become
very open and respectful of different points of view. This is our place
to practice our UU Principles.
The Adult Discussion Group will break up around 10:30am, and this gives
people 15 minutes before the normal Sunday Service to get up from the
comfortable sofas and move around and re-fill coffee cups.
